Ken Lane, among others, is interviewed by Sailing World as part of a focus on the Thunderbird fleet at the 2011 Seattle NOOD regatta.

A little history. Boat owners and potential boat owners held several meetings in 1959 and early 1960 which led to the formation of the International Thunderbird Class Association (ITCA). Tom Wile (who was building what was to become #10 Vivachee) was elected as the first ITCA President. An International Constitution and Specification was prepared and the first two fleet Charters were issued to Tacoma as Fleet #1 and Seattle as Fleet #2.
